Here at Westdale Dental we offer a range of treatment options for both adults and children.
Fixed Braces are the most common type of brace, they are small brackets bonded to each tooth and linked together by a thin arch wire and held in place by elastic rings. The arch wire is adjusted at regular intervals which straightens the teeth into the correct position of the jaw.
There are two options for fixed braces, traditional stainless-steel metal brackets or ceramic tooth coloured brackets
Our fixed metal braces are made of high-grade stainless steel which straighten your teeth using metal brackets and arch wires.
The ceramic systems we use are Invu and Clarity Braces, these are made of tooth coloured materials and are less visible than metal braces, blending in with the natural colour of teeth.
These are clear aligners individually manufactured for your teeth. They are comfortable and less visible than other traditional braces.
The clear aligner systems we use Invisalign, Suresmile, Clarity and Spark.

At Westdale we are able to offer NHS and Private orthodontic treatment to your child. Treatment typically lasts between 12 and 24 months and your child will need to attend appointments every 6 to 8 weeks.
In April 2006 the Department of Health introduced strict new guidelines to determine a patient’s eligibility to undergo NHS orthodontic treatment.
Cases are now assessed according to the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN).
The score your child receives on this index will determine whether he/she is eligible for treatment on the NHS.
If your child is not eligible for orthodontic treatment under the NHS, or you do not want to wait for NHS availability, they can still receive the treatment they require as private care here at Westdale Dental.
