Chris graduated from the University of Bristol in 2001 and became a partner at Westdale Dental in 2008. More recently in 2018 Chris became the principal dentist, taking sole ownership of the practice. Chris enjoys all aspects of dentistry. His experience and continuing education combined with his gentle style enables him to provide his patients with a comfortable and relaxed experience throughout their visit. In addition to clinical practice Chris is also qualified in clinical education and enjoys mentoring colleagues.
Outside of the practice Chris is married to Polly and they have two lively young boys to keep them busy. Chris enjoys most sports, in particular football and cricket, travelling when he can as well as finding time to do his charity work.
Gillian qualified as a dentist from the University of Glasgow in 1999 and soon after graduating she moved to Nottingham. She joined Westdale Dental in 2008 bringing with her a wealth of experience in general dentistry.
Gillian prides herself on providing high quality dental treatment with a gentle, friendly approach. Many of her patients regularly make comments on how gentle she is at giving injections!
Outside of work, Gillian enjoys travelling and goes to a weekly yoga class. She also enjoys regular trips back home to Scotland to see her family.
Sandeep graduated from London's Kings College in 2002 and stayed at Kings College for two years working in the oral surgery department, including one year as staff surgeon. Sandeep also attended the Eastman Dental Hospital, UCL, for an extended implant course and gained experience with several implant systems. With a wealth of experience and expertise and a gentle, caring approach, Sandeep is able to help put the minds of even our most nervous patients at ease. Well respected in his field, Sandeep has worked with many of the country’s leading oral surgeons and continually attends courses to keep abreast of the latest advances in modern implant dentistry.
Away from practice Sandeep enjoys spending as much time as he can with his young family.
Lynne graduated from Newcastle in 1991 and joined our team in October 2009. Lynne provides both NHS and private orthodontic treatments and her attention to detail ensures that both adults and children receive the highest standard of orthodontic care here at Westdale. Lynne attends a range of courses to keep up to date with current thinking and with modern advances in cosmetic braces, Lynne can offer Invisalign® invisible braces as well as all ceramic bracket systems.
Outside of work Lynne is kept busy with her family and enjoys spending time with her friends.
Caroline graduated from Sheffield University in 2012 and spent her first foundation year with us here at Westdale Dental. During that time Caroline developed strong relationships with the team and our patients, so we were delighted to be able to keep her here at the practice full time. Caroline enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, she has a caring and reassuring approach and her aim is to work in partnership with her patients to promote good oral health.
Outside of work Caroline enjoys spending time her family, going for walks and taking her daughter to the park.
Karolina graduated from the University of Szczecin in Poland in 2005. She joined us here at Westdale Dental in December 2014 after spending seven years working at a family dental practice in Hucknall. Karolina enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is especially interested in providing dental treatments using minimal invasive dental techniques. Karolina’s aim is to provide quality dental care in a relaxed, trusting environment, she finds it most rewarding to work with our younger patients promoting good oral health and good eating and brushing habits from an early age.
Outside of work Karolina’s two small children keep her busy and in her free time she enjoys baking, gardening and above all exploring the British Isles on her small boat.
Sherif qualified as a dentist in 2005 from Cairo, Egypt. In 2007, he completed his examinations and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Sherif was awarded an international research scholar position at the University of Texas, Houston, USA and co-authored a textbook about the usage of Cone Beam CT in the head and neck. Sherif also has several publications in peer reviewed journals. Furthermore, he has gained extensive experience in oral surgery working in different hospitals and currently holds a part-time position as a specialty doctor in oral surgery at a university hospital where he mentors and teaches junior dentists.
Sherif has an interest in aesthetic dentistry and dental implants. He gained a clinical Masters degree in dental implants from the University of Manchester. In addition he completed a post-graduate certificate in restorative and aesthetic dentistry and he is also an active member of the ITI (international team of implantology) and the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Sherif enjoys treating patients and enhancing their smiles. He is very good at comforting anxious patients and providing them with a pleasant dental experience.
Outside of work, Sherif enjoys spending time with his family, swimming and photography. He also enjoys travelling and exploring new places and learning about other cultures.
Tiphanie graduated from Newcastle University in 2017, moving to Nottingham in September 2019 to be closer to friends and family. Before joining us here at Westdale Dental Tiphanie completed a Dental Core Training placement year where she worked in the community dental services and an Oral & Maxillofacial department, mainly treating extremely anxious patients and more complex dental cases. In 2019 she gained Membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.
Tiphanie enjoys treating very dentally anxious patients, ensuring they are comfortable and relaxed with all aspects of treatment. Her aim is to ensure patients understand all aspects of their care including educating them on the best habits and oral care routines to have. She also likes using composite bonding to improve people's smiles.
Outside of work Tiphanie enjoys playing in a local squash league and road cycling in the summer. She is also always looking for new and interesting things to cook and bake.
Paul was at school in Nottingham before heading off to study dentistry at the University of Leeds where he graduated in 1986. Paul has worked in General Practice in the Nottingham since then. He has served on the Local Dental Committee and was involved with the establishment of Nottingham Emergency Dental Service. After selling his own practice, Paul became more interested in root canal treatment. He embarked on further studies in endodontics and was awarded a Diploma in Endodontology with distinction in 2015. Paul is limiting his practice to Endodontics at Westdale Dental. He has a really caring approach and is well used to putting nervous patients at ease. He uses his many years of experience to achieve the very best outcome for his patients.
Outside of work Paul is a very keen cyclist and aims to clock up 4000 miles a year. Paul enjoys playing football and golf and in the winter he loves to head to the alps for some skiing.
James qualified as a dentist from the University of Sheffield in 2020. James spent his first year working at a family dental practice in Leicester before joining us here at Westdale Dental in 2021. James enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, he strives to create a comfortable and relaxed and relaxed experience for his patients where they feel informed and confident about their dental care. James is also committed to his continuing professional development by attending post graduate courses and keeping abreast of current trends in dentistry
Outside of dentistry James enjoys visiting the countryside and heritage sites as well as watching and playing sports such as football.
Dr Andrea Brearley qualified from Sheffield University in 1997 and since then worked as a general dentist in Nottingham ever since. Andrea has been part of the Westdale Team since 2005, she has developed a keen interest in aesthetic dentistry and developed her skills further. In 2004, Andrea gained a post-graduate certificate in general restorative dentistry from the Eastman Dental Institute, London and in 2012 undertook further postgraduate training in Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry at the Tipton Training Dental Academy, Manchester. Andrea is qualified to provide teeth straightening with the Inman Aligner, Clear Aligners, Clear Braces (UK) and Powerprox braces (USA). From 2001-2009, Andrea was an honorary clinical tutor in restorative dentistry at Sheffield University.
Andrea is also qualified as a facial aesthetics practitioner in Harley Street in 2004 and has continued to attend numerous courses throughout the UK to advance and widen her skills. Andrea has had the privilege of attending training masterclasses held by the Canadian pioneers of BOTOX® (JD & JA Carruthers) and in 2012 was awarded a distinction for her case presentation submitted for the Masterclass in Facial Aesthetics by the Royal College of Surgeons, London.
Outside of work Andrea enjoys spending time with family and friends and enjoys playing tennis when she can.
Caroline qualified as a dental hygienist at Charles Clifford Dental School in 1996 and has been part of the team since 2003. Caroline works at Westdale Dental 2 days a week and spends the rest of her time between dental practices in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire. Caroline enjoys all aspects of her work and in particularly the strong relationships that she has built with her patients. Her aim is to provide outstanding care in a friendly and comfortable environment.
When not working Caroline enjoys the countryside and walks with her dogs.
Christina studied Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy at the University of Leeds and graduated in 2012. She then went on to complete the West Midlands Foundation training scheme for dental therapists which allowed her to further development her clinical skills. Christina continues her professional development and regularly attends practical hands on courses so she can keep up to date with the latest treatments and dental products. Christina has experience working with both adults and children, identifying the individual needs of her patients and provide a personalised course of treatment. Christina is passionate about her work, whether its treating periodontal disease , teaching patients how to improve and maintain their oral health, carrying out fillings or teeth whitening.
In her spare time Christina likes to keep active with running, yoga and paddle boarding . She also love spending time with her family.
Laura started working at Westdale Dental as an apprentice dental nurse in 2013. Since qualifying with us Laura has worked as a dental nurse and continued her studies, completing further dental qualifications in Oral Hygiene and Dental Radiography.
Laura enjoys all aspects of her work and especially enjoys making patients feel comfortable and well informed about their treatment options. Putting nervous patients at ease and giving them confidence to book that first dental appointment gives her great job satisfaction.
Outside of work Laura enjoys being in the great outdoors, walking and exploring new places with her young family. She also enjoys swimming and crafting in her spare time.
